« on: January 10, 2011, 07:47:45 PM »
The answer is simple, but you need to PLEASE TAKE CARE!!

If you're sure you wish to do this :

These steps only apply to 4POS version 18.4 or later.

1. Ensure you have done a backup.

For help on doing the backup : http://4pos.co.za/support/index.php?topic=43.0

2. Browse your computer to where you have done the 4POS backup THAT YOU WISH TO RECOVER / RESTORE. (By default - c:\4pos\backup\
3. Copy the zip / rar files that contains your latest backup - look on the date / time stamp.
4. Copy the zip / rar file to your flash drive.
5. On the new PC - install 4POS
6. Open 4POS & click on "register Later & then ok on the username & Password.
7. Once the 4POS Backoffice is open - 4POS Demo Store - click on Utilities & Restore Backup.
8. Browse to the correct backup RAR file you wish to restore & sit back & relax.
9. Once done, reopen 4POSBackoffice.
10. On opening the 4POSBackoffice program, you will be prompted to confirm whether you are "Moving" the database to a new pc.
11. Click on ok & wait for the email (Check your junkmail folders)
12. From the mail - click on the approve link.
13. Reopen the 4POSBackoffice & carry on.

If you are not  being prompted for the move - you most likely have not restored the correct backup!
